RECRUITING NEWS UPDATES

EVALAUTION PERIOD BEGINS FOR FOOTBALL
September 1, 2011:  Evaluation Period for Football Players in the Class of 2012 begins.
What is the Evaluation Period?

There are four Activity Periods in College Recruiting (Dead Period, Quiet Period, Evaluation Period and Contact Period).  Each period implements its own set of rules on coaches and athletes during the Recruiting Process:

Dead Period:  Coaches may NOT have in-person contact with athletes or their parents at this time.  Coaches may write and call athletes and their parents during this period.

Quiet Period:  Coaches may NOT have in-person contact with athletes or their parents at this time.  Coaches may NOT watch you play or visit your high school in this period.  Athletes and their parents may visit a school (unofficially).  Coaches can call or write athletes and their parents.

Evaluation Period:  Coaches can visit you at  your high school and/or watch you play, but CANNOT have any in-person conversations with you or your parents off of the college campus.  You and your parents can visit a college during this period.  A Coach may also write or call you or your parents.

Contact Period:  The Gloves are off!  Coaches are allowed to have in-person contact with you and/or your parents on or off the college campus.  Coaches may watch you play or visit your high school.  You and your parents may visit a college campus and the coach may write and call you.

For each sport and division (I, II, III)
the dates of each period differs.  To see more details and schedules go to our "Important Links" section.

Test: March 10th     Register By: Feb 10     Late Registration: Feb 24

Test: May 5th     Register By: Apr 6     Late Registration: Apr 20

Test: June 2nd     Register By: May 8    Late Registration: May 22

Class of 2012! This may be the last time you can take your SATs if a school needs you to bring up your score.  If you are planning to go DI or IAA you most likely are too late.

Class of 2013! Make sure you sign up NOW to take the SATs.
Take the SAT Test as many times as possible to achieve the best score.
Each time you take the SAT they choose your best scores from each part of the test to make up your final score.
Example:
First Try:  You get a 400 Verbal and 500 Math
Second Try:  You get a 500 Verbal and 450 Math
Take the highest scores from both tests.
500 Math from your First Try

500 Verbal from your Second Try

Your final SAT (2 Part) Score is 1000.

Take the SATs early and often.  The more you do something the better you get at it.  Do not, for ANY REASON, take the SATs one time only.

SCARE TACTICS AND SCARED ATHLETES
There are large number of recruiting companies that provide recruiting websites that list athletes.  These same sites have a very strong-armed approaches toward convincing athletes to sign up for their services.  In these approaches they will usually take a former college coach, who is paid very well, or has a vested investment interest in the company.  While he will probably give you some useful recruiting information his real impact comes when he employs Scare Tactics and goes in for the kill.  The Recruiting process is unsettling and scary enough without some coach throwing more fear into the maleable mind of young high school athletes.  Coming soon....we will alleviate the fear and let you know what to avoid to make recruiting as easy and fear free as possible.

SURVIVING THE RUMOR MILL
You can talk to 20 different people about recruiting and you will hear 20 different rumors about what colleges want to see, when they may offers, when it's too late to get a deal, etc.   Sifting between the rumors and the facts is a tedious process, and dispelling all of the rumors is even more tedious.  Coming soon....we will take you through the rumors and make sense of the misinformation that is floating around the recruiting world.

GRADES MAKE THE ATHLETE
Athletes compete for college scholarships across the country and in order to recieve one grades outweight athletics.  Grades are the primary determining factor in a college's evaluation of an athlete.  If you don't have the grades you won't get the scholarship that you want, or deserve.

SO MANY LETTERS, SO LITTLE INTEREST
A common first step in the recruiting process is the obligatory letter from the college coaches.  Some athletes will receive dozens of letters, usually in their Junior year, and some will receive a handful.  While it’s nice to get letters from college coaches it is important not to get too excited because the majority of those letters…don’t mean all that much.

8-3-08: PRO-DYNAMIX FEATURED ON BLUEANDGOLD.COM
Notre Dame news site blueandgold.com posted a new article on the video revolution of the recruiting process.  Pro-Dynamix is featured as one the companies on the cutting edge of the industry.

Everyone's Watching
by John Haynesworth
Web Editor

Instant exposure is just a few minutes away in today’s internet age. With the increasing popularity and interest in college recruiting, it was only a matter of time before high school athletes took notice of how quickly viral videos can spread into immediate stardom.

This new sensation within the recruiting industry has spawned an evolution in the video industry, and more companies such as Pro-Dynamix Sports Video Production , which has featured videos on BlueandGold.com, have turned their professional sights to the process of helping high school athletes gain further exposure, not so much in the public’s eyes, although an added bonus, but to college coaches and recruiters.

“It’s made it easier for the coaches,” Matt Roberts, founder and CEO of Pro-Dynamix and a former offensive lineman at Army, told BlueandGold.com in a recent interview. “Coaches don’t have to travel as much as they used to to hunt and peck athletes. Now, the athletes can bring themselves to the coach.”

Highlight videos have helped players like 2009 commit Riddick go from relative obscurity to instant stardom.

THE VERBAL WARNING

More and more athletes are making early "Verbal Commitments" to colleges.
We explain why a Verbal Commitment may not be the smartest choice for over eager high school athletes.

PRO-DYNAMIX HOT RECRUITING TIPS!!!

Full Season Recruiting DVDs: For recruits this is a critical time of the recruiting season. The NCAA Contact Period begins the week following Thanksgiving.  That is when the recruiters begin to pull out all the stops and make their moves to sign athletes. If you have not ordered a Recruiting DVD now is the time. Procrastination will only reduce the chances that a college will see your athlete.  REMEMBER, There are hundreds of athletes going through the process. The key to being seen is getting you image to the recruiters. Do not wait for them to come to you. In most cases, even if you are a higher-caliber athlete, there are still a large number of recruiters who don't know who you are. Pro-Dynamix can help you increase your exposure with our Recruiting DVD Distribution Packages.

Recruiting DVD Distribution:   Showcasing your abilities to colleges needs to be an aggressive process. Just because you perform well on the field does not mean you will be noticed. I personally have worked with athletes who were division I caliber and performed well on the field, but because they went to a smaller school and weren't as well known, they were not getting the offers.
One athlete in particular, Mike Daniels from Highland High School, Blackwood, NJ had very limited recognition from college scouts. Only Pittsburgh, Virginia and Navy had spoken with Mike. We were hired to produced Mike's recruiting DVD and handle his distribution. We sent his video to 100 schools. Within three days Mike heard back from every Atlantic 10 school. Within a week he had a full ride offer from Appalachian State.
Mike's Top 5 list suddenly became Pittsburgh, Temple, Rutgers, Villanova and Penn State. Then, one week before the national signing date, the University of Iowa saw his Recruiting DVD and made Mike a full ride offer. Mike is now at University of Iowa.
You can read more about Mike here: Mike Daniels Recruiting Article

Nice to Have vs. Need to Have: The recruiting process is similar to the NFL Draft. College Recruiters have a wish list of athletes they would like to get. If they cannot get the player at the top of their list they will go after the next best available.
The problem for athletes is there are hundreds of other athletes across the country who are equal to, if not better than, you at your position. If you do not set yourself apart, or don't let the recruiters see who you are you will become lost in the pack.
The key to getting recruited is to avoid pigeon-holing your college choices to just a few. There are a lot of colleges out there, but very few scholarships. Most colleges have about 18 scholarships they can give away each year. As an athlete competing with others you have to know your "nice to have" vs. your "need to have". You NEED a scholarship. It is NICE to be close to home. You NEED a quality education. It is NICE to be able to walk into a college and play as a freshman, but not likely.
Make sure your "Need to have" list is strong than your "Nice to have" list and be flexible. Too many restrictions and criteria limit your options.

   ACADEMICS
    -  NCAA Academic Eligibility Standards
    -  NCAA Division I & II Academic Worksheet

Academics

An athlete's collegiate marketability hinges on classroom performance. Grade Point Average, SAT and ACT scores can make or break an athlete. A strong GPA can ensure student-athlete eligibility. According to NCAA Bylaw 14.3.1.1.1 Initial-Eligibility Index a stronger GPA can carry more weight than a strong SAT and ACT. For student-athletes with a weaker GPA it is imperative to increase hold high SAT and ACT scores.

Click here to Preview the NCAA 2006-07 Division I Manual for further information

At Pro-Dynamix we value academics above all else. Our staff will be honest and forthright regarding your student-athletes eligibility requirements based on GPA and test scores. It does no justice to the student-athlete to not address and enforce strong grades. Pro-Dynamix stands by these standards and will work with your student-athlete to help increase eligibility and overall marketability.

Athletics

Game day performance is what makes or breaks a student-athlete. A student-athlete must ascend to a high level during every play, every minute of play. How a student-athlete competes from start to finish speaks volumes. College recruiters look for athletes that will give a 100% effort throughout the entire game.

At Pro-Dynamix we know that not every play will be the best. With our Recruiting DVDs we breakdown best plays and fundamentals to allow the recruiters to see a full season overview of your student-athlete.

Showcasing your on-field performance gets the college recruiter's attention. Strong academics and a high level of personal fitness, combined with athletics is what contribute to a strong, marketable student-athlete.

These are key elements that we encourage at Pro-Dynamix.

College recruiting is a continual process. Marketing your athletes is vital to their success in getting signed by a college.

At Pro-Dynamix we specialize in educating you about the college recruiting procedures and the marketing of your athletes to colleges. Our many products and services will make your recruiting experience easier and far more effective.

Products

Recruiting DVD Packages. We offer numerous recruiting DVD packages. Our recruiting DVDs contain three key elements to effective athlete marketing.

  • Highlight Reel
Our educated and experienced staff thoroughly analyze every play breaking down highlights and
fundamentals and assemble them in a way that will best represent the playmaking ability and on-field,
game day performance of your athlete. Our breakdown and presentation of athletic performance makes
recruiter's job easier. The feedback from college recruiters and coaches has been incredibly positive.

  • Game Film
The key to the entire recruiting process is clear, professional video footage. Pro-Dynamix only provides
high quality digital video production to best represent the athletes we service. The care we take to
provide the colleges with clear, unobstructed, professional video reflects your extra effort and allows the
recruiters to more easily identify your athlete. Pro-Dynamix can also clean up and work with your own game film
    to compose your recruiting video.

  • Statistics Breakdown
Your athletes on field performance, as shown in our footage, tells the majority of the story. However,
the visual image only tells a portion of the story. The overall snapshot provided by your athlete's
statistics lets the recruiters see an athlete's specific individual dimensions. Bench Press, Squat,
40 Yard Dash, Physical Dimensions all contribute to painting the picture of your athlete and round
    out your overall marketing image.

As you can see a Pro-Dynamix Recruiting DVD provides a one stop resource for college recruiters allowing them to see a thorough overview of your athlete. Some coaches only require a highlight reel to test their interest before asking for game film. Our DVDs provide both items which saves time and expedites the recruiting process.

"Pro-Dynamix is top of the line, it truly makes a college coaches job easier thus giving the high school athlete a better opportunity to earn a scholarship.  I wish that I had a service like this when I was coming out of high school. Knowing Matt Roberts played Division I football for the United States Military Academy I trust his opinion."
